Walking-Talking: A Navajo Code Talker Story

$20.00

Hosteen Joseph, a former United States Marine Code Talker shares four stories and four birthday surprises with his twin grandchildren for their tenth birthdays.  The gifts relate to Navajo legends and traditions as well as to actual U.S. Marine Navajo Code Talkers.

The appendix contains information related to the code program including photographs of actual Navajo Code Talkers and military records released from censorship.

The fictitious grandfather's name, Hosteen Joseph, was suggested by a former U.S. Marine Navajo Code Talker who said that he, too, told stories to his children.

The book was dedicated to Zonnie Gorman for her help and friendship to the author. Also, the book's twin characters were inspired by Zonnie's own twins, Christopher and Anthony, while the author visited with Zonnie several times.
